Ice Dragon 4-06-2024

Another Ice Dragon is in the history books!! It is a long and tiring event, however, there were so many good things that happened during the day. There are a few people we would like to thank specifically for their efforts.

Thank you so much Baroness Zosia for stepping in to make things happen for our courts. It is so helpful to have you come in and know exactly what to do to get scrolls organized. Your willingness to keep communicating with us and make sure that we were happy with how things were being run and letting us know all the things that you were doing to make arrangements, put us very much at ease and took a lot of worries from our plate. Your enthusiasm, sense of humor, and ability to help us keep the mood light and full of laughter, and your awesome personality makes it a joy to interact with you and having you on our side and helping us feel like we were being taking care of and that our feelings mattered with how we wanted things to go for the day. Thank you for your thoughts and acknowledgement of my beginning scroll work and letting me know that it was a good start for what I created.

Baroness Miriel sorry that were not able to make it to the event. Thank you for the work that you put in beforehand to help us be prepped for court. The cards you made were super helpful and easy to read with notes. Thank you for keeping in contact with us during the course of the day, so that we knew what was happening with you and checking in with us even though you were not feeling well. This was much appreciated!!

Lord Siegfred helped continuously throughout the day and took care of us until the cars were packed and we were headed home. Broke down the thrones after court without asking and checked in with us during the day. Thank you very much for your help!

Lord Terry made himself available to us all day. Very polite and courteous, always inquiring about our needs. You made us feel looked after all day. Thank you for standing guard for us all day and during the evening court. Appreciate you bringing food for us to the baronial room.

Baron Caleb as soon as you were onsite, showed up with the cart without asking to help carry items and walked around with us while we dropped food donations to royalty room and vigils and helped transport thrones and other items to baronial room, stood up and guarded during all of court. Thank you very much for all your help!

Lord Joe the Silent thank you for spending your entire day guarding us, we really appreciate all your efforts.

Thank you to all the guards and retainers who came to look after us and walk around with us during the day. We appreciate all of you who signed up for shifts and followed through with staying task to be there as promised. All your actions make our job so much easier and help us feel that we are not alone in this big job taking care of the Barony and looking after the people who participate in our group.

Thank you to Dame Eleanore for working with us to get the spreadsheet organized so that guards and retainers would be able to sign up for shifts. Also, appreciate you looking after us during the day.

Donations to gift basket – Master Cynwall, Baroness Isolda, Lady Cacht, Lord Terry, Master Abdullah. Thank you to everyone who donated items to the gift basket. We really appreciate your generosity and handmade items that were donated not just to their majesties, but also to all the visiting royalty as well.

To Lord Marcos and all the event staff. Ice Dragon is a challenging job to take on for any Autocrat and Event staff. Congratulations on a successful event.

Our apologies if we missed anyone. We appreciate everyone’s efforts and will try to catch up with all of you more in person.

Thank you all again!!

Welcome to the Lion and the Butterfly

Welcome to the unofficial Baronial Blog of Magnus and Thalia, Baron and Baroness of the Rhydderich Hael.

“Why a blog” you ask? The intent of this blog is to bring Baronial news and missives quickly and directly to the populace and in a format that is equally accessible to all. Social media can be a bit of a maze and there are also many people who cannot or choose not to access social media platforms such as Facebook or Discord.

The plan for this blog is to highlight the activities and accomplishment of the Baronial populace, increase communication, and provide an easily accessible archive for people to search. This will include things like color pieces after events, achievements of the Populace, and highlights of activities in the Barony. We may add other features as time and new ideas allow.

This blog is not meant to replace the Baronial newsletter, website, or Facebook pages. Please continue to contribute items of this nature to the Ice Dragon newsletter and website.

There is no set schedule for posts on the blog. We will post when we have items but hope to post at least once or twice a month (more if possible!). If there are any questions please contact us directly, please watch for updates, and we hope you enjoy reading.

Yours in Service,
Thalia and Magnus
Baroness and Baron of the Rhydderich Hael.
